Hand Building: Level One
Registration Fee: $105.00 at Rotary Centre for the arts.
Supplies Fee: $125.00 + HST, payable to Potters Addict.
Minimum Limit is four students.
Students will explore the basic methods of clay forming. Slab and coil construction methods, surface
decoration and glazing techniques will be developed. We will be making a variety of bowls, plates and
containers. All classes are designed for the student to have a creative and enjoyable learning experience.

Pottery Wheel Techniques: Level One
Registration Fee: $105.00 at Rotary Centre for the arts.

Minimum Limit: 4 students, Maximum Class size: 6 students
Students will learn to throw a variety of shapes such as the cylinder, bowl, and vase. Glazing will take place
on the last day. Be prepared to have fun and get down and dirty.

Big Pots
Intermediate to advanced potters only. Limit: 4 potters.

In this five week course, students learn the ancient method of coil making and hand building, combining the
two techniques. Students will make a large vessel. Glazing and decorating on the last two weeks of the course.

Glaze, Slip and Other Decorative Techniques
Registration: Potters Addict, 250-763-1875
Fee $225.00, Supplies $25.00+HST - payable to Potters Addict
Students will learn about advanced decorating and glazing techniques. Over and under glazing, china paint,
lustres and gold applications will be explored. Students should have a supply of 10 bisque-fired pieces for

ADULT DAYTIME CLASSES
Level Three Hand Building and Pottery Wheel Combination:

Fee: $230.00
This course accommodates a variety of skill levels, but beginners must have taken level one hand building or
pottery wheel techniques. Returning students are challenged with more advanced projects which will include
hand construction on wheel thrown pots and more advanced glaze techniques.

CHILDREN'S CLASSES
Fees: $174.00 per child + HST. ($85.00 to register at the RCA plus $89.00 payable to Potters Addict at
the start of class. All supplies included. Students should bring a healthy snack.

Level one: Summer Clay and Art Camp for Children, ages 7-12
In this five day camp, children will learn the basic techniques and creative approaches to handmade
pottery and glazing in addition to a variety of fun loving art projects:
Hand built pottery and sculpture techniques.
Paper making techniques using recycled paper.
Painting and oil marbling on hand made paper.
Original card making.
Acrylic painting on canvas.
Printmaking techniques, drawings and rubbings.
Traditional friendship bracelets and more.

Time: 10:30am - 1:00pm
Level two: Clay and Art Camp for Children, ages 8-13
Students must have Level one or equivalent.
Five educational and creative days of fun. Classes go for one week from Mon to Fri. Time: 1:30-4:00 pm.
Children will learn the basic concepts Hand building techniques making a variety of items for a mobile
and pendants. Pottery wheel, sculpture and glazing techniques will be explored as well. Various fun loving
art projects include:
Tie dying techniques: fabric decoration: tee shirts required.
Beading, using nylon fabrics, glass and ceramic beads. making traditional pendants.
Marbling techniques using solvent based oils.
Paper making techniques: Handmade paper.
Printmaking techniques: drawings and rubbings.
Painting techniques using oils, acrylic and water based paints on paper and canvas.

Children will learn the basic concepts of handmade pottery, sculpture and glazing techniques as well as
various fun loving art projects.
Art projects include: Hand built pottery, sculpture, and pottery wheel techniques, Painting on hand made
paper, original card making techniques, Oil marbling techniques on hand made paper, Acrylic painting on
canvas, Beading techniques (making traditional friendship bracelets), Paper making techniques using
recycled paper, Printmaking techniques (drawings and rubbings).

Fee: $60.00 per hour per person plus clay supplies at $4.00 per pound.

Bring your classroom to our pottery studio. Children will make two unique clay projects using hand building
techniques. These projects keep all of the children actively involved. Class time takes 2 hours. Leave the
glazing to us and you will be called when everything has been fired.
BIRTHDAY PARTIES FOR CHILDREN

8 children or more: $19.95 per person
Children make their own unique bowls, masks or mud monsters. The hand building class is 1-1/2 hours and the
glazing class is 1/2 hour for a total of 2 hours of fun.
THE POTTERS CLUB
For only $75.00 per month you receive a key to our facility, a cupboard for your work and tools, work space
and use of all of the pottery equipment. Join our group of inspiring potters and clay artists. We also offer
one-on-one classes at $60.00 per person per hour plus clay. We can supply clay, pottery tools and firings.
